Log purchases from notifications

What you need

  • Gradually Premium
  • iOS 27 or later
  • Apple Intelligence turned on, except for Wallet notifications

Set up the automation

  1. In the Shortcuts app, open Automation, tap +, then tap Edit.
  2. Tap Automation, add the Notification trigger, tap App and choose Wallet or your bank's app.
  3. Search for Gradually's Log Expense from Notification action, add it, and tap its arrow to show its fields.
  4. For each field, tap it, tap Select Variable and then Notification. Tap the Notification it adds and choose the matching detail: Title for Title, and so on through Date.
  5. Go to Settings > Apps, open that app's Notifications, and turn on Banners.

Review your purchases

  1. Open Gradually.
  2. On the Transactions tab, tap the banner, for example 3 transactions from notifications.
  3. Check the details, then tap Add 3 Transactions.

The review works like a scan: see Review the details.

Common questions

Nothing shows up in Gradually

The automation only runs for notifications that appear as banners. Check that app's notification settings, then open Gradually.

The banner says “scans waiting for review”

Other scans are waiting too. Tap the banner, then the row with the bell.

Will one purchase show up twice?

No. When Wallet and your bank both report the same amount within five minutes, Gradually keeps one.
